Return Merchandise Authorization is not the biggest module in Sage 100.
That is fine.
The Return Needs a Reason and an Outcome
Sage documents RMA workflows for receiving merchandise back from customers based on different reasons and routing the receipt toward an appropriate result.
Possible Outcomes Can Include Replacement or Credit
Sage describes capabilities such as cross-shipping replacements and issuing customer credit memos.
Depending on the business, the return may also involve repair, replacement, inventory disposition, or another controlled next step.
RMA Is Useful Because It Preserves Context
The important thing is knowing why the product returned, what the business agreed to do about it, and how that decision should affect the customer and inventory.
That is enough reason for the workflow to exist. It does not need to become a giant project to be valuable.
